Eight (8) years after developing the original Kush Murrine I have finally consolidated my ongoing research! Using slides, live segments, and a bit of pre-recorded content I will present a heap of information, some old and most very new, related to Kush style Vitrigraph murrine.

During our time together I’ll cover exactly what Kush Murrine is and where it came from.

We will have an in depth talk about Bullseye colors and examine this unique murrine style wearing every color of the rainbow.* Precise recipes will be shared and examined for a large handful of specific designs. After making the murrine we’ll focus on a couple innovative ways to form a blank so we can compare a variety of results. You will learn to make the thick trays pictured and a drop vessel blank. We will talk about secondary methods of kilnforming such as drop vessels and pressed pieces without going super deep. There are other workshops that focus on those topics in depth.

This workshop will not teach you how to pull Vitrigraph murrine. Having a basic understanding of the Vitrigraph kiln is probably a good idea.

Attendees will receive a thorough set of notes, including recipes, prior to the start of the workshop. Links to any pre-recorded HD content as well as the Zoom recording will be made available within a week of class.
