Join me in my NEW larger, air conditioned, pleasantly smelling, quieter studio in Portland Oregon!
This class will focus on making two kilncast glass boxes. You will make two boxes using assembled, vermiculite board molds with investment cores. Basic principles of kilncasting, volume calculation, and coldworking will be covered. Due to unique firing conditions, the project sizes and wall thicknesses will be specified but students will have access to multiple forms of glass (sheet, billet, frit) There are no prerequisites, though moldmaking and/or kilncasting experience are helpful.
